As one of the country’s top ten college farms, Dilmun Hill, Cornell’s student-run organic farm, provides a fast-paced, exciting, and inclusive environment in which to work and learn. Run and governed by students, the farm is a vibrant place that invites diverse perspectives, talents, and contributions. Whether or not you have farm experience, we welcome you to join our team. A job as a Farm Manager provides the opportunity to launch yourself into a prominent leadership position at this fully-functioning farm.
Managers will become part of the vibrant Dilmun Hill community, which consists of a strong network of Dilmun Hill alumni who have since taken roles as farm managers, engineers, and agricultural educators throughout the world. In addition, managers will have the opportunity to work closely with a wide variety of CALS professors, CUAES staff, and Cornell Cooperative Extension educators.
All applicants should expect to start working part-time at Dilmun Hill this spring, full-time through the summer, and continue part-time work in the Fall 2018 semester. After the growing season ends, managers will continue furthering the farm’s mission during the off-season months as members of the Steering Committee. The paid position for Dilmun Hill will run from March through November, and the pay rate is $11/hour.
Students from all colleges and majors within Cornell are welcome to apply. This position is for undergraduate students only. The applicant must be a student in Fall 2018; therefore seniors graduating in May/Aug 2018 are not eligible to apply. Students with and without Federal Work Study are eligible to apply.
